EarthCam brings you live streaming coverage of the 2006 Kid Witness News New Vision Awards Ceremony from the headquarters of Panasonic Corporation of North America in Secaucus, New Jersey on Monday, May 8th. Presented by Panasonic Kid Witness News, the 16th annual ceremony will recognize outstanding video achievements of young students as they present "The World Through Their Eyes". Each year schools around the world are given five months to create 1 to 2 videos in predetermined categories which are then entered into a contest. The best of the best videos are honored at the annual New Vision Awards Ceremony. The videos are screened and critiqued by Graduate Film students from Columbia University's School of the Arts Film Division. The top three finalists in each category are once again screened by an independent panel of professionals for a final round of judging. The judges include educators, broadcasters, scientists, journalists, entertainers and industry leaders. Everyone dedicates their time to Kid Witness News to select the videos which receive top honors in several different categories. Panasonic invites winners from around the world to a weekend of activities in the New York City area to celebrate their accomplishments in videography, and to receive their honors at the prestigious KWN New Vision Awards Ceremony.
